This piece is an observation on the concept of trust. I’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to trust, and how it appears in our society. There are 6 movements and each reflects a different aspect of that concept. Trusting on a superficial level, lack of trust, loneliness, wanting connection that isn’t reciprocated, losing and regaining trust, and my favorite, the final movement where trust and connection are found without inhibition. In this way, the piece acts as a blueprint for how to live our lives while working towards a strong connection to others. I wanted to reflect that this isn’t always a feeling that comes easily, but is something that enriches our lives.
