Jessie Leigh Olson
Trained under the direction of renowned teachers German Zamuel and Valentina Moukhanova Zamuel, former teachers of The Royal Ballet School. Jessie Leigh was awarded numerous scholarships, including the Esther Geoffrey Scholarship Award. For several years she attended the Washington School of Ballet where she worked with the late Rebecca Wright and Victoria Leigh. Jessica was awarded First Place in the Classical division in the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) in Denver and went on to compete as a finalist in New York City. Jessie Leigh first joined City Ballet as an apprentice in 2013 and was promoted to company member in 2015. Olson's time at City Ballet she performed lead roles in The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Mozart's Requiem, Don Quixote, fourPair, Romeo and Juliet, Raymonda Variations, Giselle, Carmina Burana, and George Balanchine’s Serenade, and the company premiere of Peter Martins’ Hallelujah Junction and Ash.
